Robyn founded DC PHP in 2003 determined
to expand the use of PHP and Open Source applications in the Washington
DC area.
Previously he had worked as an independent contractor and with various
companies around the US, including Starfish Software, where he built
his initial skills with PHP.
Upon moving to Washington DC he discovered that it was a Microsoft
dominated town, and that either he had to retool his skillset to
their inferior technology, or it was time for an expansion of the
Open Source market in the nation's capitol.
Other projects either founded or co-founded by Robyn include:
• the Washington DC Area PHP Developers Group
• Sock of the Month
• The Live Bread Company
• Nanjemoy Community
